bro,

i have one 2 feet tank.. new to planted tank but wish to set up on with a lawn of hair grass.. anyone able to guide me along?

last sat i hand itchy go but 2 bag of lapis sand and some java fern and a sponge filter plus a air bar for my tank..

here are some of the question i have..

1) does hair grass need Co 2 to survive? if it is needed, can some guide me on CO2 set? know nuts about it..
2) wad kinda of base fert is recommended? and around how much do i need if it is for 2x1x1 tank? around how much is the cost?
3) wad kinda of filtration is recommended?
4) how powerful lighting do i need?

i think this about now..

this is wad i intend to do but duno will work or not..

lay a layer of base fert and cover it with lapis sand.. 1/3 of fert 2/3 of sand.. and plant in hair grass.. plus i will add root monster for it to grow..

and also will get a strong light to help the growth of the plant.. maybe a 55watt or 24watt as bro david suggest.. (the tank is beside the window)

do i need to add a fan to it?

will my hair grass grow?

dun put near window is the best bet, as some more will heat up the tank, some plants will suffer.
co2 shd be reducing the algae growth.

will the flow be enuff? cos hearsay, the stated flow of 2211 and 501 might be the same on written but the actual performance is quite a huge gap..

some algae does forms with or without co2, my bad, just that the dosing must be careful, some will rid of it, some will encourage form of it.
